Helixes can be used to unlock any Chapter, while Atoms can only be used to unlock chapters if all previous chapters have been unlocked. For example, using Atoms, you cannot unlock Chapter 80 of a novel if Chapter 79 or any Premium Chapter before it is still locked, but this would be possible using Helixes.
A Helix is currency that can be used to purchase Premium Chapters. It costs 100 Helix to unlock one chapter.
Atoms are free currency that can be used to unlock Premium Chapters. Users can acquire Atoms through Quests and Achievements.
